Inserting/Removing headphones causes video freeze a/v breakup

I have discovered yet another problem with the Late 2008 MacBook Pro. Whenever I insert or remove headphones during video playback, the sound stops for a few seconds and the video freezes. Can anyone else verify this issue?

Happens on my MacBook and pretty much every other Mac I've used. The Line-Out port is a little smarter then you think it is and isn't just a bypass.

Are you using iPhone headphones or just standard audio headphones?

I tried with two different headphones. Both cause the video to freeze.
