This isn't their GoPro competitor, that would be the One RS with 4k lens. GoPro will come out a little ahead on image quality vs the One RS but will cost (and overheat) more.I THINK the video quality on this is real low grade.
I would rather buy a go pro. they are small. much better video quality.
Yes you are so right, this isn't a GoPro or DJI competitor. It fits perfectly in the niche that is not covered yet for me. I'd love to simply clip a small camera to my bike helmet or snowboarding helmet without having a have a big toaster shaped thing there. Video quality is easily good enough for private use. I'm not that important that I need to release HD quality footage to the world, it's more for fun. I was looking for a small action cam for a long time and the old insta360 go versions weren't good enough. This one seems to fit the bill and I might get it.This isn't their GoPro competitor, that would be the One RS with 4k lens. GoPro doesn't have a camera setup comparable to this. The Hero 11 mini is still a lot bigger and doesn't have the remote viewfinder or the mounting options that this has.
There is a quality trade-off with the size of this thing, but the MR video is poor all around, including stuff not shot on the Insta360. I've seen other videos that look much better.
Yes, it's a niche product. I would use it to record GF while snowboarding or maybe a few mountain biking runs, snorkeling or a short surf. Or just run it while biking in crazy boston traffic. 45 min is enough for that, 1440p 50fps is enough as well. Also if you do a complicated repair on your car this could help you document what you did and where the extra left over parts should have gone ;-) .45mins in 25°C at 1080p@30fps i guess it's about 15min in 2.7K
By the way , action cams needs 50fps and not in 1440P.
It's a good expensive family cam.
2.7K: 2720x1536@24/25/30fps
1440P: 2560x1440@24/25/30/50fps
1080P: 1920x1080@24/25/30/50fps
Run time:
GO 3: 45 mins
GO 3 + Action Pod: 170 mins
*Tested in 25°C (77°F) lab conditions at 1080p@30fps in "Video Mode", with screen and Wi-Fi off. Run time may vary in different conditions.
Flopped? They sold very well before smartphones. I even had one while having an iPhone because it didn't record video while the Flip did 1080p even back then. Why does this remind me of the (flopped) Flip video cameras?
It’s not a 360 camera, but they do make a good one.I did not know 360 cameras were still around. I remember them being horribly built and futzty!
Thanks for the vid links!
