Instagram app will not minimize...

Pressing home button does nothing in Instagram now. Just started. To get out of the app I need to lock then unlock the phone. I removed my Instagram addon apps and reinstall Instagram. Nothing worked. Ideas?

iPhone 6 running 8.4.

A couple other things I noticed. The app takes a long time to open. Like 10-15 secs. And if I lock/unlock my phone I can home button out of the app. It just won't work the first time without locking/unlocking.
