Instagram has begun testing multiple account support on iOS, suggesting the feature could be coming to all Instagram iOS users in the near future. Starting today, some Instagram users began noticing an option to log into more than one account in the Instagram app, but multi-account support is limited to a small number of users at this time.

Instagram users who have access to the multiple accounts feature will see the option to add additional accounts in the Settings menu through a new "Add Account" heading. Once a second or third account is added, switching between them can be done with just a couple of taps. With multiple accounts logged in, notifications for Likes and Comments will also have a header to let you know which account is receiving the alert.

Multi-user support has been a highly desired feature on Instagram for several years. The first hint of support came in late 2015, when Instagram began testing the feature on Android. It is not clear when multiple account support will see a wider release for iOS users as Instagram has not yet made an official announcement.

This will be a much needed improvement to Instagram! I have been waiting for this for quite awhile, especially when having to manage multiple account in the business setting. This will make it easier!

As someone who runs a business AND has a personal life, I'm thrilled about this feature.
Agreed!! Right now I use the app for work and the web site for personal.

Only reason I want to jailbreak right now is so that I can easily switch accounts on Instagram and Snapchat.

iOS 9.3 includes multi-account support for schools. It's not a general feature that's available to everyone.
So presumably they will find a way to lock it down such that everyday users cannot implement it themselves? I cannot see why they would go out of their way to restrict it unless it was just to sell more iPadsiPhones.

Been testing it for a while. Works well but it'd be really nice if they'd open the API up so we'd be able to have 3rd party clients like we see with Twitter. Though I understand not wanting to do so. More than 30% of Twitter users utilize 3rd party clients which means that they don't see advertisements and thus means up to 30% less revenue for Twitter. Instagram is heading the other direction and tightening their API access to limit who can use it and what they can do with it.

Just tried it out & seems to work nicely! Since my dog has her own IG account, this will really come in handy... No more hounding me to log out of mine & give her access to hers ;)

This is great news as I saw the tested, then removed it on Android late last year so I thought that was it. Clearly they're looking to do a full implementation and it would save me so much time, not to mention missing comments and messages while logged into another account.

I have it! I run several businesses and it was the worst experience having to log out of accounts and in to others just to check my activity or post new photos.

I'm surprised this wasn't done until now. Facebook lets you control your different pages that you admin, so at the very least Instagram would have done something similar.

Just checked - still don't have it. D-oh!

I'd love this too as I have an account for art and I want more of a personal photo dump account
