I hope you did this today and not last weekIt’s for these reasons and ones related to privacy that I stopped using facebook and later instagram, and simultaneously bought a ton of FB stock. They used me, so I might as well use them!

I like it. I am glad they listened to users.
I agree, chronological should work for IG. Makes perfect sense because you subscribe to only one kind of entity, user's accounts. Would not work at all for FB since there are groups and everything involved. Why don't we just go back to the tried-and-true chronological? It works and it actually has some sense of logic to it.
Never even noticed any auto refresh lol but what I like is that I still ain’t got no ads! and the annoying „3 suggested posts in a row“ in my feed seems to have gone away too
Vero is run by some shady CEO so I cannot support that in any way
has this exodus been a thing though? A lot of artists I follow went to Vero but within weeks came back, citing that it was awful.
I wish they let us pick what we want. This is an improvement at least. They haven't really fixed it, they're just tweaking the algorithm to be a little less stupid. I really want the option to go back to a purely time-based feed, instead of them trying to "customize" it for me.
But yeah, the auto-refresh thing can go straight to hell and I'm glad it's gone.
I've been reading this thread and seeing all these posts about ads. I don't see ads or sponsored posts. I completely forgot that I use Instagram++ on all my iOS devices which hides sponsored posts. I don't think I ever remember using an ad in instagram. You are right. Since end users are not actually customers, we don't really matter to them... at all. The only reason they changed things here is because they found a better way to make money off of it. And that's fine because they need to make money. I just really want to know what their dirty algorithms are that make more money for them when posts are out of order.

I shouldn't say they don't care about us at all... they really hope we click on their ads.
Don't believe every rumour you hear. There is no actual evidence he was connected with that situation at all.

Yeah it was bad for a few days when the subscribers went from under a million to over 3 million within a few days and they couldn't handle the load. It's been working fine for me for the weeks since. I think it is getting traction, many of the big IG hubs have started accounts on Vero.
still waiting for ipad support....

And then there's the fact that the app was coded by Russians.

I'm presuming you know how to read and process information? I went through all these articles BEFORE I signed up and there's not a shred of evidence the founder had anything to do with that situation.
Yeah, I’m not (willingly) giving my info to someone who doesn’t feed or pay his workers, and who hires Russians.
