I like the sound of it too.

'Convenient' timing though, it has to be said… 😵 Almost like they'd been holding back the good features for when the parent company needed someone to run interference for them.
 
I have a private account and a public account and never see ads in my private account. Ads in my public account sometimes seem to be every other photo.

I would be willing to pay a nominal fee every year to have an ad-free and chronological feed. I know others who would do the same.

I agree, chronological should work for IG. Makes perfect sense because you subscribe to only one kind of entity, user's accounts. Would not work at all for FB since there are groups and everything involved.
 
Chronological makes sense for IG, because originally it was for mobile photography only, and meant to be posted immediately, to share with your followers where you are and what you are doing. I know a lot of people post images from trips, meals, a day in the life kind of thing, and it makes things really confusing when stuff is posted out of order. Here's my lunch, and then my breakfast, and then my dinner, and then my departure flight that left before breakfast... It's confusing when it's not chronological.

Don't believe every rumour you hear. There is no actual evidence he was connected with that situation at all.

Yeah it was bad for a few days when the subscribers went from under a million to over 3 million within a few days and they couldn't handle the load. It's been working fine for me for the weeks since. I think it is getting traction, many of the big IG hubs have started accounts on Vero.

But yeah, the auto-refresh thing can go straight to hell and I'm glad it's gone.

I wish they let us pick what we want. This is an improvement at least.

good.

one thing i've noticed from the people i follow. they post a lot of stories along with photos. i hardly see a photo while scrolling through my feed. is it because i see their story often?
 
Do you guys even get ads/sponsored content on your feed/stories anyway?

I’ve never seen ads on my feed since Instagram was launched.
 
Or jeez - how about some revolutionary thing like - oh I dunno - just show posts chronologically with newest on top. Why mess with the feed at all. Each time Facebook messes with it's or Insta's feed they just **** it up more.

I've been reading this thread and seeing all these posts about ads. I don't see ads or sponsored posts. I completely forgot that I use Instagram++ on all my iOS devices which hides sponsored posts. I don't think I ever remember using an ad in instagram.

I'm presuming you know how to read and process information? I went through all these articles BEFORE I signed up and there's not a shred of evidence the founder had anything to do with that situation.

Yeah, I’m not (willingly) giving my info to someone who doesn’t feed or pay his workers, and who hires Russians.
