Instagram chief Adam Mosseri today announced several new features that are coming to the social network, including an overhauled website. Instagram is debuting a new Instagram.com design, as many users take advantage of Instagram on the web for multitasking purposes.

The updated design is described as cleaner, faster, and easier to use, with a layout that has been designed to take advantage of larger screened monitors. Mosseri said that Instagram is aiming to make the website "as great of an experience as possible."

Instagram today also announced the addition of scheduled posts, a feature that is aimed at creators but available to all users. With the new option, Instagram users can schedule a post up to 75 days in advance.

Instagram can be downloaded from the App Store for free, or accessed on the web through Instagram.com.

Instagram on web site is more tolerable. Easier to block ads, no autoplay of videos, some of those other annoying things are disabled. Plus extensions like StopTheMadness to round out the other issues. I haven’t touched the app in a long time.

If you add to homescreen on iPad its actually a quite decent web app, once the web notifications arrives on iOS it will be enough for most people, of course without the stories creation and editing stuff.

New design for the Web has been out for a bit, maybe they were randomly rolling it out to different customers to see if there were issues.

As a new appreciator of not using Instagram on my phone sucking it’s battery dry prematurely, I thoroughly welcome a revamped Instagram website because it always seemed purposely gimped to encourage people to use the data sucking phone app.

How about Instagram for iPad? People would love to use it on iPad Pro.

My issue was that it would take over the whole screen whenever you used it on an iPad. My assumption was what I wanted was an iPad version of the app. I have since come to the realization that I didn’t want an iPad version of the app, I wanted Stage Manager.

Overhauling the website but no attention for iPad. Instagram's original reason for being is to showcase photos in a social context and is beautifully suited to tablets. The iPhone app runs on my iPad but with black bars down the sides.

Or does Meta really want to ruin Instagram by making it into another TikTok clone, something other than what made it popular?

Facebook. So gross.

Thankfully Zuck’s luck has run out and his sociopathy won’t save him this time.
Oooh he’s begging for investors to stick with him for this “Metaverse” to pan out.

I gotta ask, only cause I’m thinking, has Zuckerberg ever made fun of baby boomers or the generation older than what he’s in?!

I ask because Metaverse is just a kiddies naming version of The LawmowerMan movie into real lifE, and it’s sad really. Metaverse is like #2 of that movie were nobody in their right mind has watched the movie even though they’ve been rented on a really lonely boring sad night of their lives and has chosen not too.

The sad part, the VR glasses, on hardware actually are good, not as good as Sony’s for PS5-VR2.

Just wait until Zuckerberg and team Meta try to force IG to fall in line with their Meta push lol.
