Install app. from Install Disk

Can someone tell me how to install an application (Automator) from my OS X 10.6 Install DVD please. I suppose I need to use Terminal to explore the DVD, so I will need the command text.
I am fairly new to Mac, so keep it as simple as possible please 😀

I believe you can just use Pacifist to install the Automator pkg.
