I bought a mac that came installed with Adobe CS4 but I had to reinstall the OS due to issues - I was given the CS4 installation disks but no serial number, and now Photoshop is asking for it.

do I have any options or am I up ***** creek? Considering I have the actual disks I thought it was worth asking

You'll need to get a serial number from Adobe. You might have to contact whomever you purchased the computer from though as Adobe won't really be able to help you that much.

I wouldn't even bother calling Adobe. They're going to just assume it's pirated, and although they are polite and courteous to get anything out of them will require some sort of proof of purchase or registration data from the original user.

just wait after a few replies and someone will try to guilt trip you and tell you this is unethical.

but yeah there are many ways to get a serial number if you need it.
