Install Custom Voices In TomTom

I've been following various guides from various links from a Google search on how to install a new voice (Darth Vader) via ssh.

I've been following them and doing everything thats mentioned yet when ever i select the voice i've overwritten with the Vader voice pack it just kicks me out of Tomtom to the home page.

Has anyone done this succesfully and if so do you have any advice for me?
 
Well i have both mate so if you want just say.

Out to everyone else, can any of you shed some light on my problem?
 
I got them to work. Goto the voices folder in iPhone directory. Rename data173.chk and data173.vif to backupdata173.chk and backupdata173.vif. You never know when you will need Ervin from Magyar.

Now rename the celebrity voices (darthvader or dr.evil.chk & .vif) to data173.chk and data173.vif respectively. Respring(I think this needs to be done) and then go to Tom Tom and choose Ervin from Magyar and you should be hearing your celebrity voice.

Bottom line is 173 is male from Magyar.

Thats exactly what i've been doing and when selecting the voice i've overwritten with the Vader pack TomTom crashes.
 
Try my link above and download the file from a different source....I downloaded Darth, Clint Eastwood, and Steve Irwin. The Steve Irwin one does not work. Maybe the file is corrupt.

Nice one, just downloaded and it works, i installed the Vader voice.

Are these the official voices or not though?
 
They don't sound like official voices. They sound like hacks using computers and bad voice imitations. But they work.

I tried the Yoda file you sent me and it does exactly what you stated. It tries to load them, but then crashes to the Springboard.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps they were corrupted on the transfer from computer to iPhone? Did you try downloading them directly from the site using the iPhone and then use iFile to unzip? All the files except the Steve Irwin file were done directly to the iPhone when I did this. But if you got the Vader one working, I assume you used the same process. Did you pay money? I'd be interested to know what the "offical" ones sound like. The Clint Eastwood one is kind of hokey.....it just adds punk after everything.
