Install esc key?

Ive been searching how to install the esc key on my 08 macbook. I found some youtube vids but they are installing the letter keys and it looks different from my esc key. Any one know how to do this/? Looks so simple....

Ive been toying with it for a hour. I bought this kb from ebay. Looks like the guy added a esc key from a different board so I had an extra piece on it. Still haven't got it install, I think I broke part of the scissor mech. A local place will sell and install the esc key for $5. So I installed the new kb and the P does not work! It clicks but does not register on the screen! Anyone know how to fix that?

side note: While osx was booting, I heard about 3 beeps, as if a key was stuck or something. It then stopped. All other keys work.
