I had this problem with an NTFS book camp partition. I was able to install by creating a small partition between the bootcamp partition and my Macintosh HD partition. Not sure if the bootcamp will still work but at least all the files are still there

I am getting same error while installing? How did you fix it?

I erased everything, install a fresh copy of leopard not any other software at all downloaded Lion again and run it.
That was the only way that worked for me.

Lion installed on my system with a custom MBR partition scheme (for EXT4 Linux + swap partition): it simply omitted the recovery partition, and never threw up any sort of error. Perhaps you GUID and MRB partition schemes are mis-aligned? (you can make sure they're in sync with REFIT or iPartition)

This is the easiest solution to the problem, did this earlier today and everything worked smoothly. After lion installs you can just delete the small partition you made earlier. Also tested booting into Windows and everything works fine! :D

I have the same issue. Tried erasing and reinstalling OS Snow Leopard several times. No dice. What was your solution?

Had to take it into Apple Store to have it loaded from an External drive.
Mine kept crashing with bootup looping issue. Finally I excluded the Apps from the Migration Assistant and loaded the apps separately. Finally finished!
