"Install Final Cut Pro" icon is greyed out when install DVD is inserted

I'm trying to install FC Studio 2 on my new MBP but when you pop in the install DVD, the "install final cut pro" icon is greyed out (looks like an alias). I tried the disc on 3 different mac today and had the same problem - I couldn't double-click on the install icon to install FCP...so weird.

Yesterday I tried and successfully installed it on our 2 macs there...just not at home.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I could try to get this working?

you can legally install it on a desktop and one laptop....
so that might be your answer...

The disc wouldn't have a way of knowing it was installed already, so I'd have to disagree that that's the answer.

Unless the software activates online, which I don't think it even does.

Are you trying to install an upgrade or a full version?
