Pretty much it, can I install the GM build on the latest iTunes for Windows?

Yes. I installed from iTunes 11.3

Latest download is 11.4

Not so, I was able to update my Ipad Air to the GM 8.0 last night with ITunes 12 from my Mac with Yosomite on it. You just need to make sure you have the latest Xcode.

Yep. I just did it myself as iTunes 12 crashes on the mac.

Worked for me. Booted into Windows on Bootcamp, installed iTunes 11.4, then applied the update.

Took a while (longer than these things usually do) and it seemed to hang a couple of times, but I now have IOS8 GM on my iPhone 5 🙂
