Has anyone had any luck installing ITunes in linux (Ubuntu)?

I am running Ubuntu 12.04, I have downloaded Itunes 11.0 then install, use Wine to open it but it will not run..any suggestions?

Either run it in a virtual machine, or find another app that runs in Linux. Clearly its not compatible with WINE and since apple doesn't offer a native Linux version your options are limited.

Short of a Windows VM (which is a huge waste of system resources if you're only using it for iTunes), you're not going to get iTunes on Linux. Banshee is a solid iTunes replacement - even supports iOS devices.
