Hi All,

I've recently upgraded my 2006 intel iMac at home to Snow from Tiger using the $29 upgrade disc, therefore I still have the iWeb that came with my original Tiger OS. My problem is that I have one website (the only one I've ever created in iWeb) that needs a function added that can only be done with iWeb '09. I thought I could (and the local Apple "specialist" store said I could) use the Applications install DVD 2 from my newer Snow-based iMac at work (which has iLife 09) to update the iWeb on my newly Snow-upgraded Mac at home, but I get an "Alert, Can't be installed…" message.

So, my question is: Is there a way to upgrade the iWeb on my home iMac using the Applications Install DVD 2 from my work iMac?

I just can't justify spending so much $ on the entire iLife 09 package just for a quick revision I need to do on one tiny website, as I never use the other iLife apps. But if it comes down to it, then I guess I must. Any advice or clarity is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Have you tried uninstalling iWeb then using something like Pacifist to extract the installer from the disc and then install the newer iWeb?

Thank you. Well, that worked, at first. After doing so, I opened iWeb and everything opened ok, so I shut down because it was late. Tried opening again tonight and just get an error before iWeb even opens saying "Can't open file "~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain". Any ideas?
