Install Lion on the ssd

Hi!I've bought a new Mac mini server and a SSD.After the installation of the ssd (I'll replace the top disk,the first which can I access opening the mini) how can I install Lion?

Put old drive in USB caddy and boot from that? Should be able to install from it.

I've tried,but my mac mini didn't recognize the ssd.What should I do?(The ssd is connected correctly,I've checked it)

I had the exact same problem recently when installing a 128GB Crucial M4 SSD to my 2011 base model MM. What you need to do is go into the disk utility and reformat the SSD to what OSX uses (HSF journeled or whatever it's called).
