install osx 10.5

i bought a second hand macbook but can't install osx10.5
after the choice of Language there is a window can;t install on this comp
what is the problem???

Is it a retail install disk? You won't be able to install OS X using a bundled disk from another Mac.

The only way to...

to install Leopard is to get an install disk that isn't linked to another computer, like SF was saying "you won't be able to install Leo from a bundled disk!" You need to purchase the OS. 😎

The other possibility is that it's a drop-in upgrade disk, which were supplied with quite a lot of machines during the Leopard changeover, in which case you'll have to install Tiger first (from the system restore disks that came with your macbook) then run (preferably) an archive+install from the Leopard disk (just insert the Leopard upgrade while booted into Tiger and follow the prompts)
