Hi all, I've inherited a MBP that only has Windows 7 installed on the internal HDD. I have the original OSX install disc that came with the laptop and I would like to wipe the HDD to install OSX back on the machine.

How can I go about doing so? I know that holding Option only works for Bootcamp installs, so that won't work. I've tried holding C on startup and can't get it to boot to the DVD. It just goes loads Windows 7. Both the DVD and DVD are fine as I can access them from within Windows 7 to install Bootcamp Drivers.

Have you tried holding option? It works with a blank hard drive, and that's built into the EFI, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Just make sure you hold it before the white screen appears, and the DVD will take a few seconds to show up.
