Anyone have experience with frequent case swaps? I couldn’t decide between 2 cases and was going back and forth. They were a bit difficult to install. Not so bad to remove. Wondering if it could cause any harm to the screen (has to push on the corners to get it in) or bend anything

No, not really. I swap cases pretty often.

The only downside is you have to look out for trapped particles like sand to avoid scratches.

Thanks. My concern stemmed from having to push pretty hard on the corners of the screen to install and then pry the case off. But it sounds like that isn’t an issue.

It clearly depends on the force you have to apply to put/remove the case.
I used an Otterbox on my former XS which was very tough to put in and to remove. I wouldn’t use it as a frequent changer...
On the other way, the Apple leather case I’m using now with the 11 Pro is very easy to swap, so it is not an issue.

I think it could be an issue in the long term...

It depends on the case. A Spec Candyshell (or whatever it's called now) is almost impossible to remove from the iPhone and risks bending the phone if you try. It's pretty much non removable. Other thinner more flexible cases pop off really easily.

I cracked a case last week, wanted to swap the chip. No damage to the 8plus though that would have hurt.

Like said above, I've actually broken a case trying to remove it, but never my phone. So I try to stay away from cases that are hard to install/remove because I do change cases often and I often remove them just for cleaning the dust & grit that gets trapped inside.

Yup, I've never used their cases for that reason and it's a shame because I really like the look of their cases. They've got some unique looking designs.

The UAG Plylo case (Xs max) is one of the most difficult cases I have ever had to remove from any of my phones. The phone feels super secure in the case but is honestly anxiety inducing trying to remove. I’d avoid that if you like to swap out often.

Aaaand I’m back to switching between 2 Otterbox cases that have built in pop sockets. I guess I shouldn’t fret too much. As someone mentioned JerryRigEverything is super hard on phones when he does his durability test and they come out fine. And there a ton of youtubers that test case after case after case. And they don’t seem to have any issues. I’m just a worry wart by nature. But there isn’t any evidence that anything is wrong so no sense in dwelling on it

The phone and/or screen is going to be a whole lot harder material than any case I've ever seen. Trapping of dust etc with frequent swaps is the biggest issue I see.

That’s true. According to Apple it’s the strongest glass used on a smartphone. I mean if an issue arose it would be readily apparent yes? Wouldn’t lie dormant and under normal use suddenly causes a crack?

I just went back and watched some of Zack’s (JerryRigEverything) videos. He did a durability test on a Galaxy S7 Edge and while it didn’t break, the back glass did separate from the frame voiding the water resistance. However, the phone itself didn’t break. Fast forward a year and he did another video talking about case vs no case and said he was using that very same S7 Edge. So I guess that goes to show you phones can take a beating.
