I'm trying to install tiger, and am wondering if I will be able to. My cd drive is broken in the computer I want to install on, so I made an image of my tiger disk and restored an image to a partition of my external hard drive. Unfortunately, I don't have a monitor, so if I want to install, I am going to have to go to a friends house to deal with it, but its about 15 min away. Basically, I'm wondering if this will work. The hard drive is a usb external, not firewire, thats why im worried. I know with leopard it isn't a problem but am not sure about os x tiger

Hey did you ever

Hey did you ever get an answer? I currently in NZ far away from my disk, and my cd drive is busted, I am having issues with my HD and want to use a torrent/external hard-drive or external cd drive to re install either Tiger or Leopard. Any ideas. Any help would be great. Joel

PS Can a Powerbook 12 handle Leopard?
