Install vs download options

Whats the difference between these ?

'Install' and 'Download' in your Purchased section...

Both look like they do the same thing... As when i click 'Install' it download's the app anyway..

As far as I know, OS X itself is the only thing with "download". That's because it doesn't automatically install after downloading (since it requires a decent amount of time, and a reboot).

Apps on the MAS are installed once you buy them, i.e., downloaded and installed, but as mentioned by Nermal, OS X is a little different. You have to manually run the installer once OS X is downloaded.

ok,, i think i get it.

so the fact the installer OS's take "longer" to install on a users system is the only side effect here ?

I was confused over the fact, u drag and drop app to Applications or download directly to Applications folder as "installed"
