I have a nice little G4 server in the basement that i use to host all my files and i want to use it for TimeMachine storage space. But for the life of me i can't get the install to work. First i tried to image the install DVD to my FW drive, but that didn't work and now i can't even get it to boot to the DVD. Here are my system specs

    Dual 1Ghz G4
    1Gb ram (2x512)
    Internal CD-R
External DVD Burner (DL) (this is where i am trying to install from) In tiger it shows up as a nativly supported DVD burner.

Right now i am booted off the DVD from the external drive, but it is just hanging on the Apple Logo.

    Please help. Thanks!

You could perhaps make a DMG from the DVD and try the steps here.

Not sure if that'd work or not but might be worth a try.
