Well, today has been sucky... I wanted to upgrade to lion from 10.5.8. But i couldnt, so I had to buy snow leopard first, download all those software upgrades. Then download lion, - now lion wont install.... 60 dollars later.

Giving me an error message about no recovery can be created:

any ideas?

I had the same problem during the initial install attempt. I simply went to system preferences > Users and groups > log in items. Unchecked all except iTunes. Restarted the install and it went without a hitch. I did not have to touch the bootcamp partition. However, the bootcamp partition is not recognized now that Lion is installed. I was weaned from Windows over a year ago, and I haven't used the feature much and I am not going to bother with a an update either.

any one find a solution?
I have boot camp partition but i need to keep it for work!
I have tried doing a disk repair nothing seems to help
I am surprised more people have not run into this?

I have no user groups in my preference?
