installation problems

I need help installing osx 10.4 and it takes me to the install screen (introduction)and then another screen pops up saying "this software cannot be installed on this computer"what am I doing wrong???? HELP SOS
 
Im really new to this,I was told the only thing to do was to erase everything and put on a new copy,borrowed mac os x 10.4.8 from a freind and i erased everything on the notebook.rebooted the computer and thats what it told me.

The discs you borrowed won't work on this Mac.
 
I dont have the original disks that came with it.So the only option is to buy leapard, is that going to work or will i buy it and it tell me the same thing?
 
What system are you trying to install OS on?

What does the install disk look like?
If Gray disk: Machine specific, will not install on a different line of Macs.
If Black disk:10.4 will not install on intel macs.

If you don't have the original installer discs for it I suggest that you go get Leopard. If your friend has an identical MacBook Pro the discs they loaned should work.

Do you know which MacBook Pro revision?
