Nope. The GM is what the public will be getting. If there's anything that Apple feels they need to fix right away in the GM, they'll do it as a patch (i.e. 7.0.1) after public release.

Or just release 7.0.1 as the public release.

Gold Master means its the version apple is using for the public release. You have what many of us will be getting this Wednesday

So say Apple finds a bug in the iOS 7 GM, they make the public release iOS 7.0.1, do iOS 7 GM owners update OTA? I would think so.

Yes. The GM is the same as the public release. It would work the same for new iphone 5c and 5s owners as the GM is what is installed on those phones.

Another thing I might expect is a bunch of app updates with IOS7 fixes. One application I have doesn't work at all on the iPad with 7.

Maybe I shouldn't have installed the GM just before leaving town for vacation :)

Well it will keep you busy

No. 7.0 is already loaded on all the 5S's and 5C's manufactured so far.

Thats doesn't really matter. They could release 7.0.1 on Wednesday and buyers of 5C and 5s phones will have to update when they open and activate their new devices. There's nothing to stop Apple doing this IF they need to.

That doesn't change the fact that the GM is the public release - as pointed out it's already on the new iPhones. If they should provide 7.0.1 on Wednesday, that is no different than providing an update at any other time for download.

Actually it is. If 7.0.1 contains fixes for the things many users of these forums are complaining about - mainly iPad iOS 7 GM, the mass public will not have to deal with the bugs we on these forums see now...as they will have 7.0.1 as their first experience with iOS 7, not the GM.

Again, that doesn't change the facts. Any theoretical 7.0.1 is an update to the initial Public Release (GM) which is 7.0 and is currently the GM being installed on the new iPhones.

The only way that there would be a new Public Release is if Apple actually rebuilds the GM (creating a different build number) yet keeps the version at 7.0.

nope. But you did just void your warranty by downloading it from a third party website.

There are LIES, there are DAMN LIES, and then there is the stuff you just posted. lol

7.0 GM Seed runs fine for me so I don't think that there will be a 7.0.1, all those people having trouble downloaded it from Third Party Websites. Just FYI.

Your logic and anecdotal evidence is utterly flawed. It also indicates you don't understand the upgrade process and one would think a Developer WOULD. Just FYI.

I know it is a while back but with the 4.2 GM they rebuilt it and released 4.2.1 as a public update...but then again it was not being launched on new hardware...let's see, but I feel this GM still needs a lot of work. Wednesday will tell the tale.

...but as I recall, in that case, Apple actually issued 4.2.1 as a NEW GM to developers before 4.2 ever saw the light of day.

You really have no clue what you're talking about. Even if you download it from a third party website, it's still an identical file to the one seeded by apple. If it weren't, it wouldn't pass the verification stage on iTunes and would not install on your iphone.
