    Hi guys,

I installed win 8.1 a few days ago on my 2013 macbook air 11inch. It was hard, but I finally got it working. However, battery life seems really short. It drops really quickly compared to os x. I could get about 11 hours doing regular stuff like web browsing, html5 youtube, etc. With win 8.1, I think it's lasting about 4 to 5 hours. I can see the battery percent dropping really fast.

Is this normal for 11inch macbook air 2013? Or is there any way to save it? As I was typing this, I uplugged my charger to test again, and within 1 minute, battery percentage dropped from 100 to 99..

    I really need help.

    Thanks.

Probably normal. Windows isn't nearly as power optimized as OS X.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking it was not normal because there was a thread somewhere I found on google than someone installed windows 8 on their 2013 mba 13 inch and get 12 hour battery doing regular tasks. but someone had much worse experience, but there was another guy who also had similar battery life with good expreience. So I have 11 inch version, and I thought about 9 to 10 hours would be fine..

Do you have boot camp installed as well? I would like to hear from other mba 2013 users who have windows 8 or 8.1 installed.

    Thanks.
