installer.app problems

im new to macs this mac pro is my first mac and ive had alot of bother not being able to install programs only to find i have no installer.app in my utilities folder (only god knows where that went lol)
ive been on the apple website and cant find where i can download it...

can anybody help....

eh? What do you need an "installer.app" for?
Just download the applications...

Leopard no longer has installer in the utilities folder. You no longer need it.

I thought my problem was that i had no installer.app

when i try to install a program i get

i havnt got a clue what application im supposed to choose to open it ?

this has been happening with all the programs im trying to install .pkg etc
