Hello all,

Terribly sorry if this has been posted a billion times before, but the forums are huge and I'm running out of time today and would like this issue to be resolved ASAP.

I'm trying to install a program called Ventrilo on my mac (V 10.4.11) straight from the website (www.ventrilo.com). I can download the OSX file to my desktop using Safari or Firefox, but once it gets there and unzips (unpacks, whathaveyou), Installer pops up, bounces a bit, then instantly closes.

I have no idea what's going on, so any help is more than appreciated.

Thank you for your time,
~Masque

Whoops!

Sorry to not have included that information!

I'm running an iMac build 8S2167,

2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
1GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory

I'm attempting to install the client software.

Again, sorry for not including this sooner. Thanks for the help!

Nosir, the problem is the exact same if I install and download it on another account.

There are many that come as part of the system. Just run a search for PKG and see what comes up. Don't actually install the item, but check to see if Installer opens correctly. :)

Hmm.

Very interesting! Installer doesn't work, period.

Same results if I search for a PKG file and try to open it, Installer will open very briefly then immediately close. Looks like That's the real issue, I'm going to try to re-download and install installer.

Trying to update Installer has failed, as Installer is not functioning. Dunno what I was thinking.

A long time ago, I managed to uninstall iChat. I did some snooping and found that one of the only ways to get it back was to use my system disks. Is that the solution here?
