Installing games on rMBP (no disk drive)

I've installed Windows 8.1 via BootCamp on my rMBP so I can play CoD Ghosts on it. Since the rMBP doesn't have a disk drive I was planning on taking disk images from each disk, and 'burning' them to some spare USB drives I have lying around (I'm not a gamer, but since when has it become OK to have games spanning 4 8GB DVD's!?).

Would that work? Is there any other way, besides buying a USB DVD drive?

I thought about using disk virtualization software like Daemon tools but that's not going to save me any time and means I would have to make the Windows partition very big to accommodate all the images and the actual game install.

It will probably be easier to just buy an external optical drive. I'm assuming that when you state no disk drive that you actually mean no optical drive.
