Has anyone successfully installed java on Lion GM?

I've tried and all I have gotten is a popup that says:

To open “Java Preferences.app,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.

But I am definitely connected to the internet..

I have successfully installed Jave on the Lion GM twice.

Once on an upgrade from Snow Leopard and the other with a clean install of Lion. Must be something to do with your internet settings.

I found the solution. Apparently it won't see you connected to the internet if you are on wifi. If you are on the internet via ethernet it will install.

Thanks!

Is it annoying that I had to hard wire for the Java update? Absolutely. Did it save me a boat load of misery finding this post that solved the problem? Hell yes. Thanks Riot for road blocking the migraine I was developing.

I was having the same problem (of course on the paid-for App Store download of Lion, though). Connecting via ethernet fixed it. Thanks! What a weird bug.

Awesome!

Imagine the Joe Cocker song, "You are so beautiful to me!". Thanks PacifistRiot, after turning off wifi and connecting directly to the internet, I was able to upload the updates! You're the BEST!!! A million thanks, you saved me $40, for not having to get "Adobe phone support"!:):):):)
