Installing Leopard From System Disc on Another Machine

Is this possible?

Say from an iMac 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo disc, to a Mac Book Pro 2.16 Core 2 Duo.

It used to be possible. I intsalled OS X from my PowerBook G4 1ghz disc to my 400mhz G4 tower back in the day.

Oh well, off to the store.
