Hi,

Im kinda new to this whole mac thing. At work i've a G4 Powerbook but its cd-rom drive doesn't work. Now we want to install mac os x on it. We have several other G4s there, so my question is if it's possible to install mac os x on the powerbook over network? If not, is there any solution to this problem?

If you have a FireWire cable, connect your PowerBook to one of the other computers. Insert the CD, and reboot while holding F. Then reboot your PowerBook and hold Option. You should then be able to boot from the remote CD drive.

If you don't have a FireWire cable, then wait for someone else to reply to the thread 😛
