Just bought a new G4 Dual 1.25 from the school bookstore and it came w/ an IBM 120GXP 120GB HD. I mean it sounds good and all, but I just don't want a 120GB HD as my primary OS HD (will use it as secondary for my video, graphics, and music). So I'm reading this thread (lots of good info btw), and wormy's post hit the sweet spot: switch out the factory HD and put in another one.

My question is how do I install OS X on the new HD? (Been a PC user forever, this is a my first Mac, so please excuse the newbie question.) Do I hook up the new HD to the system, initialize and format it first, then pull the factory HD and put the new HD and put the OS X CD in? Or do I initialize and format it, then do disk copy and copy all the stuff from the factory HD to the HD, and do the switch? The new HD is a WDSE 40GB btw. Thanks
