Hi, I've been trying to install OS X onto my alu iMac remotely from my MacBook Pro using 'Remote Install OS X'. I've managed to get "Remote Disk" to show up under 'Devices' in Finder.

The installation process beings (I'm upgrading from Leopard 5.8 to SL, iMac super drive has gone) but I get an error saying the disk seems to need repairing.

I then do a verify in disk utility on the iMac which comes back with no errors, and nice green writing.

I go back and try the installation again however the same error occurs.

I know remote install is only supposed to be for MB Air but maybe someone has had the same problem with upgrading a MB Air.

The only way I would be able to get around this is apparently to re-start the iMac, hold down 'alt' then choose either the Airport option or the remote disk - neither of which show up when at the start up disk screen.

Any ideas?
