installing os9 on osX for sonnet encore HELL!

Hi all,

I am currently running os10.3.9 on a G4 400mhz powermac. I've just bought a Sonnet encore 1800mhz card to upgrade it but for it to work I apparently have to install os 9.2.2 on my system.
For some reason when I try to install OS9, my OSX system drive is unrecognized so I choose to install on a different drive, this works, but the option for returning to OSX in the startup disk options is non existant, so how am I supposed to return to OSX?, does anyone know, I'm going insane!

Hold down the option key when starting up. Does this give you the OSX option
