I keep getting an error about a mismatch between MBR and GPT partition when trying to install El Cap. I'm wondering if it's because of my boot camp partition.

I am too scared to try.

I recall one of that betas of Yosemite wiping out a boot camp partition... so I can wait. :)

just started this game called tera and I am semi hooked which hasn't happen with a game in a while. If i try this beta and loose bootcamp it may save my life much turmoil and embarrassment, if it don't try it I can restart in windows and play my game sooner today....hmm

Here is my experience. If u just upgrade the yosemite to el cap PB1, it should be fine. But if you create another partition and then install on newly created partition, you might loose option to boot into windows (bootcamp partition).

Even if you try via refit (or something else) still says : no bootable device found after blinking white cursor.

I took a leap and did it anyway. Posting from my Win8.1 boot camp instance post-10.11 PB1 install. W00t!

I was nervous after the issue i had with Yosemite PB.. but it went smoothly.

That said, if you try it and it fails, don't blame me! Good luck! :)

Getting the same here.
Any work around?

Bleh. No. I just ended up wiping boot camp and starting all over and I absolutely hate installing Windows too. Takes forever!

Hope this issue doesn't arise in future builds of OS X.

I think I'll wait and see if a remedy arrives, not an option to wipe my Windows partition just yet. Using the Windows 10 preview to play the Xbox One on the iMac.

my windows 7 partition works with no problems. only strange thing was on the windows side the keyboard stopped working but not sure if that was connected to the mac side or just a corruption. a bit of random clicking in the bluetooth settings and it installed a new driver and all was fine.

Todays PB broke mine... i can't seem to resize/remove the bootcamp partition using the disk utility either...

unsure how to proceed since i can't boot off bootcamp partition, nor can i remove it to start over... a real pickle. :)
