Installing SL, strange problem

Hello,

Tried to install Snow Leopard from DVD and the window appeared in my current Leopard system but there are no icons for Install Mac OS X, Optional Installs and Instructions. There have always been icons there. Is this something bad? I do not want to screw up my system.

Did you get the Up To Date version? Is the disk physically scratched or damaged?

Nope, bought it from Apple Online store. The DVD is in perfect shape.

Restart the computer and hold down the "Option" key and choose Snow Leopard as the startup disk and boot up to the install screen from there. See how it goes.

Maybe need new firmware.

You have the icon size slider in Finder. You're already running Snow Leopard?
