Thanks but no - I'll use whatever text formatting I wish :)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing; "someone WOULD have done it" - very true, but did they?... NO!. I would have been the first man on the moon, if I was a different person, born in a different era. What is stopping you saying "well done, you did it" like someone else has?. There's gratitude for you; dance round it all you want, and be as pedantic as possible, but the bottom line here is you DIDN'T discover this, hey!.

Maybe you don't understand what I am saying. You didn't discover anything. This has been done before, there are simply different variables. Don't believe me, look here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/371302/

In fact, I think I posted this in another one of your erratic threads. The point is, I am sure you lifted the methodology from that post, in fact I have no doubt.

What is stopping me? Well first of all, you haven't actually solved the problem, given the fact that you haven't been successful. Second, your work is not original in regards to solving the problem. Sure the problem is novel, but the methodology is two years old.

Oh, and why do I need to show gratitude? If I was in a situation where I had UTD disc I would have had it solved and installed on day one. Why do I need to show gratitude for something that does nothing for more and is something I could have done myself? Hey!

The point I am making is to say that the installer DOES check hardware IDs and more, and it does not ONLY check to see if Leopard is installed. Simple - are you lost? - never mind, I'm not!.

I'm pretty sure that the installer queries the hardware only to determine whether that system has the minimum processor type and speed required. eg: if the minimum requirements are a 1gz Intel Processor, the installer won't allow you to install the OS on a G4 or G5 processor.

Hardware is all ROM. There is no facility to save any user data. I've run different OSs like Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard on the same computer by booting from different external drives. As long as you meet the minimum requirements, it always works.

Calm down dear man, it's okay.

Calm down dear man, it's okay.

Typical response of the interlocutor when he or she has no rebuttal. Attack the person's state of mind in order to undermine their argument. I think they call it an argumentum ad hominem or simply ad hominem. It doesn't work, dear man.
