I've been using an external USD Samsung DVD drive since then. Would it be possible to install OS X from the external DVD drive? Thank you for your time

Hold down option when you turn the machine on. Make sure the disc is in the drive. belvdr said: I would assume it could. The Air does this. Click to expand... You know what happens when you assume something.

Replacing the DVD drive would be really $$ alright
