i tried crimson drivers but from what I've ready on the blog above and my own experience is that these drivers don't seem to work with the m395x :(

Would someone be able to help me walk through each step of this update process for a 2013 Mac Pro with D700s?

I'm currently running 15.7.1, but I desperately want to upgrade. I'm struggling following the instructions from the blog post.

Hi,

I have a NMP with D700 and I installed this drivers yesterday.
Everything run well but when i look in the control panel, it's written that I have 2 diferent video card:

1 is R9 200/ HD 7900 series
2nd is HD 7900

I test some games like rainbow six siege and the witcher 3 and I think that crossfire doesn't work.

Have you an idea.

Thanks for your help

I wouldn't mind some help as well. I too am using D700s and I'm having trouble following the instructions in the blog post to get the Crimson 15.2 drivers working.

Can someone help?

In my experience the shutdown bug with crossfire enabled arose with the last official bootcamp drivers, rather than with the crimson drivers. In fact, now that I'm on Crimson, I no longer have the problem. (I have D500s so it could be an idiosyncrasy unique to the D700)

My shut down bug went away when I used installed the boot camp update via the Apple Software Update while running Windows 10 - this was after I installed the boot camp drivers during the initial boot camp / Windows install process (where you have to kill the realtek process, etc).

Glad to hear that. Have you checked that bootcamp update did not re-install D700 drivers instead of Crimson ones? That might explain that shutdown bug disappeared... As far I am concerned, I finally gave up with Crimson drivers and re-installed D700 drivers from device manager. Luckily enough, this let the new FirePro control center fully working. Not so bad...

For those who trying to install the Crimson drivers. I was able to install the driver on my nMP by following this guide:
https://www.royhochstenbach.com/ins...s-on-a-2013-mac-pro-updated-for-version-15-x/

I had some issues during installation which was depending to the paths of folders etc.. You have to take attention which path you are copying into CMD.exe. because the path in this guide is not the right one. AMD is extracting the files into "C:\AMD". His path is "C:\amd_custom". There some other paths you have to take attention.
The other problem was that you first have to uninstall all drivers with DDU before start to install the modified drivers.

Hope it will help you.

I used this method to install the second most recent drivers 16.2.1 (16.3 literally came out today - not tried yet).

Did you manage to get Crossfire working? After I modded and signed the drivers and installed them, my Mac saw them fine. However with crossfire enabled my games crash and I can't play. They work when crossfire is disabled in settings.

By me CrossFire was working fine. I didn't had any crashes.

which version of the drivers are you using now?

I built me Windows gaming machine, so I deleted BootCamp on my nMP. I also can't remember which version I installed but I think it was the pre or prepre version of Crimson driver.

Just installed latest Crimson drivers on D700 nMP.

Followed guide at https://www.royhochstenbach.com/ins...s-on-a-2013-mac-pro-updated-for-version-15-x/

Instead of installing Visual Studio used Windows Driver Kit Enterprise – it is 1.2 GB ZIP file, which contains command-line utilities. Extract it, run administrator cmd.exe and execute "LaunchBuildEnv" file to get paths set up.

Other than that just followed guide, everything went smoothly. All AMD apps work, Crossfire works, cards are detected correctly (and as workstation cards too – have ECC options etc.). Everything took about 15 minutes excluding downloads.

Ran "Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor" at 3440x1440 with Ultra quality – stable capped 60 FPS, no artefacts etc. On stock drivers had to use half that resolution and quality to get playable game.

P.S. Did not use DDU.
P.P.S. Also fixed "unable to reboot" bug when nMP on shut down or reboot did not cycle power.

Yesterday I got official Boot camp Crimson update via Apple Update. Driver version is 15.301.2101.0 and dated 02/09/2016.

I got blocking issues with DXVA playback in Kodi Jarvis RC2 with 1080i DVBS2 transport stream live tv. Other than this looks like ok to me.

Isn't 15.3 an old driver? Thought 16.x has already been released* for a while

*edit: for non-mac gpus

You are right I am also confused with the version. Radeon app about page shows version as "Radeon Software Edition: Crimson" in "system->overview" tab. :( Maybe only Radeon Manager is upgraded to Crimson while they keep the old generation driver.

You should open your HD700 video card, ask for update your driver ans select "from drivers present in the computer " (or something like that). In the list of available drivers, you just have to select the R900/HD 7900 series, and you are done...
