Hi all,

I'm trying to install Tiger on my 1Ghz A1046, laptop has a functional DVD drive, and 2GB of RAM.
I could not for the life of me get it to boot off of USB. I tried burning a DVD-R using "Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger Retail DVD" from MacintoshGarden, and it wouldn't boot. The disc verified fine with Imageburn, and the PowerBook was able to read the disc just fine within Leopard.. I just want Tiger to work.

Any ideas on what .ISO I need?? Also are DVD-R's ok, or should I get +R's?

Thanks

in relation to starting off a USB-stick: newer >= 2.0 USB-sticks to boot are hit and miss. Anecdotically I had to try several to finally find one which actually works. But transfer times a really slow - using DVD is significantly faster.

Talking DVD: if possible use a DVD+R.

Sorry for the late response. I tried the #32 file, and it still won't boot. I've held the C key, option key, and done nothing, and it still goes to the flashing folder.

People have been reporting issues with that download - maybe try it again, it's recently been replaced with a new .iso
