I'm going to be installing vista ultimate oem on bootcamp + vmware fusion and I think I've figured out what I'll need to do, but just want to make sure I have it straight.

    I believe I'll need to:

    1. first create the bootcamp partition
    2. install vista on the bootcamp partition and activate windows
    3. install vmware fusion in OSX, set up the virtual machine and reactivate windows

Does this sound right to those that have done this already? Any other tips or advice?

Also, what is the difference between vmware fusion & vmware tools?

VMware tools is the set of drivers you need to install when using an OS in a VMware program(player, workststion, fusion). You will need to start up windows in your VM, click "Virtual Machine" in the Menu Bar, and then select "Install VMware Tools". Follow the on screen instructions.

    Easy and done.

Pretty much what the VMware tools does is act as a driver in Windows that accesses your drivers on your real OS.

Thanks. I'm sure it will become more evident once I actually get the SW and get started.
