Prior to installing windows 7 on a laptop running Vista, what is the best way to deal with your music and movies currently in your iTunes folder?

Is it better to transfer the whole thing to a seperate hard drive and then import back once you have set up a fresh itunes post install.

Or just use a transfer wizard like Windows Easy Transfer.

Just copy your iTunes Music folder to an external.

After installing Windows 7 and iTunes copy the folder back (replacing the iTunes Music folder created during install) and you should be set.

Provided of course you didn't have any external folders of music/media and all your media folders are within the itunes folder, try to make sure of that.

Ah, and you might think of doing yourself a favour and get a mac, trust me, you ll feel so bad for not doing it earlier once you get used to os x, if you don't I all buy your new mac back.

AVOID WINDOWS TRANFER WIZARDS (AND FOR THAT MATTER ALL WINDOWS WIZARDS) LIKE THE PLAGUE.
