I had Vista installed previously (using Bootcamp on Tiger if it matters), but I just formatted that partition to install XP on it instead. Is there any way to tell bootcamp to install on that partition? The one button, idiotproof setup of the program is pretty frustrating.

Or if not, can I merge the 2 partitions back together without losing the data on my Mac HD?

I'm now on Leopard now

please and thanks for help :)

Boot camp doesn't handle the installs. It just makes a partition and burns you a disk with drivers, for the most part.

Just boot up the Windows XP install CD and install the partition that was Vista.
