I've been trying to install Windows XP Home Edition on my new iMac with the Boot Camp Assistent.

I made a 32GB HD partition for Windows and followed the instructions by BC assistent.
I inserted the Install DVD and selected the new FAT32 (32GB) partition to install XP on, confirmed, but then (when the system rebooted) I kept getting a 'disc error'.

"Press any key to reboot" -> but the system won't respond, unless I force it to shut down by holding the power button for 5 seconds, after which the same process repeats over and over again.

So, basically, I'm kinda stuck here. Help, please?

Some stuff you might want to know: I got an Apple wireless keyboard + mighty mouse and my dad thinks the system may not register the keyboard strokes I'm entering. Could this be the problem? (No, I don't have a wired keyboard to test this)

Yeah it does sound like it's not registering keystrokes. I guess try and get your hands on a USB keyboard from someone.

I'd recommend getting XP Pro SP2 and formatting the partition to NTFS, Fat32 seems to have alot of issues with users installing the OS with their macs that way.

it should recognize the keystrokes fine, ive set up plenty of systems with a wireless, if not try and use a generic USB keyboard.

but its probably down to XP Home without alot of the support XP Pro has.
