The area where you could even remotely attempt to change settings for this, is greyed out. Also, Steve gave us a preview of 10.2, he did not lay all the cards on the table..... So that being said, look not only for iChat, but iConference as well.

I totally see this happening. When Apple roles out QT6, they're going to do it with as great a 'gee wiz', knock you off the seat, OMG as they can. MPEG-4 is going to have far reaching effects we won't even realize at first, I just hope Apple can get the ball rolling before someone else comes along and does it before them.

Actually, I think this is what is holding up 10.1.5 and 10.2. I don't think it is MS. I think QE 6 was going to be part of the 10.1.5 update. I think that the whole licensing issue is the problem, and whille have to be fixed before 10.2 comes out. The WWDC of 10.2 had QE 6 in it, and it seems really, really friggin strong.

vid conferencing is just what we all need

with a white board for on line collaboration! and maybe a hand held device to video conference from anywhere! This sounds like a revolutionary device to me. Not that certain phones don't exist but Apple would make it specifically for this purpose. There by reinventing the cell phone. Does anybody else share this sentiment? BTW, Proteus is my choice. Very tight app.

I would like to see an Apple branded Cell phone, but I don't think they are going to dive into that arena. Now a conferencing app built on MPEG-4, that is a different story all together. It would allow them to jump into a world that they have over looked. The future of corporate American, as well as the world is in Video Conferencing. If the streams are good enough to support VHS quality video, then man, it would open many new doors.

AIM Question

Does the upcoming iChat program from Apple and the "partnership" between Apple and AOL on this mean that AOL will stop developing their own AIM client? I hope not, since I prefer the present AIM to what I have seen of iChat... Anyone know? Post away...

I'm a Yahoo guy, and, now that Yahoo FINALLY released an OS X version of messenger, my days using Fire (Proteus crashed my system and I don't use AOL enough to use Adium) are numbered. On one hand.
