InstaTV - Stream Live ATSC/ClearQAM TV from a Windows PC to iOS

Mac does not have a generic programming interface for TV tuners, so it's a bit harder to port InstaTV to Mac.

However, if you are using HDHomeRun tuner, then it should be possible....that's something might be on our roadmap.

In the mean time, please use our Windows solution.

We are also working on a PC-free streaming solution for HDHomeRun tuners. That's right, streaming from HDHomeRun tuner (DVB-T/DVB-C/ATSC/ClearQAM/CableCard) to your iPad and iPhone without a PC/Mac turned on.

There are some minor changes to PC streaming app. The main change is iPad3 resolution support (upto 1080p). You can download the lite version for evaluation for free.

Next release of PC streaming solution is expected to have a much more improved stability and also with DVB-T support.

I checked out the lite version, it wasn't a smooth stream even at the low resolution. Pls it needs version 4 of that bloated Microsoft run time thingy for guide. Relying on mce guide is rough since some of my atsc channels don't show guide information in mce.

InstaTV Server requires a powerful CPU to do live transcoding. core-2-duo and up are preferred. What is the spec of the PC?

Athlon X2 Dual core 2.8Ghz
4GB ram
256MB Nvidia graphics card with mpeg-2 encoder/decoder
it is connecteds to my router via ethernet.

As for wireless, I am using an Apple Time Capsule

dot Net 4.0 requirement is a mistake. It will be fixed in next release.

InstaTV for iOS version 2.2 changes:

• Lite version is removed and IAP is introduced. See "IMPORTANT" section.
• Added XMLTV format tv guide support. TV Guide data can now be supplied as a zipped xmltv file named guide.zip and file will be downloaded to iOS device for offline use.
• Added majority of US cable channel logos
• Added a new OSD (overlay) design with current/next TV program information
• Automatically discover InstaTV Server on local network. Apple Bonjour is required on Windows PC
• - Many bug fixes
