I had a quick question about insurance. I purchased insurance for my iphone 3g but recently decided to purchase the 3GS. I understand that I have to buy new insurance for this new phone- But wondered about the old one? I gave my old phone to my brother, he is not on my AT&T plan- Is this phone insured for him or only for me? 🙂 How exactly does this work?

Thank you!

insurance stays with the phone.. he will be able to use your insurance as long as the phone isnt reported stolen or anything like that

He is not insured, you are. If you sold the phone or gave it to a stranger, the insurance company will no longer insure it. He needs his own insurance.

There is no insurance for the iphone.
What you purchased was Applecare
Heres details about what it is, whats included, how etc..

It does not follow the owner, just the iphones serial number.
So if the phone was sold 3-4 times its still under the protection plan untill it expires. All the owner has to do is bring it to Apple.
