Apparently State Farm doesnt cover cell phones or pda phones anymore.
It may depend on your agent or something. I'm with State Farm and just got my iPhone covered along with my MacBook Pro. $83 dollars a year with a $100 deductible on the phone.

Be careful, it is up to you to read through ALL documents in order to make sure you are covered. What an agent tells you verbally may not be valid.

All State Farm agents around here wouldn't do the iPhone since they said that State Farm doesn't insure cell phones anymore. Called three different agents.
Called All State and they insured my cell phone and listed it in the agreement for a worth of $700. Deductable is $250. I have to get it 'appraised' to get the deductable down to $100.
Still, better than paying $600+ again.

A lot of this will depend on talking to the right agent it seems. I had a friend that was denied by their Liberty Mutual agent when trying to get their iPhone insured. I had no problem whatsoever getting mine and my wife's covered by my Liberty Mutual agent with no deductible for $20 a year.
It seems that different branches either have different policies or interpret coverage differently.

Mine told me the same thing. They did up until a short time ago... About the same time the iPhone came out...
Hmmm. Largest insurance company in the US longer covering the best selling mobile device ever..
Time to get my Tin Foil hat out again.
It's not as simple as picking the "iPhone" policy out of a book and writing it up... you must have your agent go to bat for you with an underwriter and get it added to a "Personal Articles Policy."
Now if you dont have a relationship with State Farm and call them to do this for you, they will most likely tell you to get lost -- they dont need that business. But for established customers, they will extend their coverage to you on an item that they would not normally insure.

It's covered with my Allstate insurance, but I have a $1k deductible.
I just got my iphone covered today with State Farm for just shy of $10 per year with NO deductible under a personal articles policy. I called my local agent and she wasn't sure about coverage so she contacted an underwriter and he confirmed that they would cover the iphone. I just had to provide the sales receipt. Under this policy everything is covered from accidental damage to dropping it to the bottom of a lake.
