Getting a 24 inch iMac very soon. Been trying to decide between the 2.66GHz and the 2.93 GHz computers. Processors aside, the main difference seems to be the Graphics card. Not a heavy gamer and don't do a lot of graphics/video work. Just wondering which system I should get? There is also a refurb previous gen 3.06 that is around the same price as the new 2.93.

If I should get a dedicated graphics card, should I go with the refurb, GT120, or splurge for the GT 130 (or dare I say wait for the ATI card)?

There seems to be a number of threads like this.

Since the OP doesnt do much gaming or video work surely any current or previous gen iMac would be more than adequate.

Arguably, older ones than that would be perfectly ok.

Hey Guys,

thanks for all the help. I think I will go with a refurb as I will get more bang for my buck. I am actually leaning towards the 2.8 Ghz refurb. My only concern is the 320 Gb hard drive. Any suggestions for a good external?

Thanks again!
